Copy the transaction hash from your wallet, open a trusted explorer for the correct network, then compare status, addresses, asset, amount, fees and confirmations. Never enter a recovery phrase.
Broadcast but unsettled
Included in a block
Execution rejected
Start with a trusted source
Copy the hash from wallet history. Follow an explorer link in official network documentation and check the domain. Public lookup never requires connecting a wallet.
Read the status
Pending means a transaction is not yet in a block. Inclusion may still need more confirmations under the recipient’s rules. Some networks also distinguish finality.
Check the transfer
Compare addresses, token contract, quantity and fees. For contract calls, actual token movements can appear in event logs rather than the simple value field.
Investigate a mismatch
If the hash is missing, check the network and copy. Failed execution can still cost fees. For a wrong destination, contact the recipient promptly without assuming recovery is possible.
Check status without merging stages
A visible transaction can be pending, included, failed or replaced. On Ethereum inspect the receipt status and emitted events, then confirm the correct token contract.
- A hash on the wrong network may seem to be missing.
- A failed operation may still cost fees.
Practical case: decision and limits
Explorer success does not prove the intended application result. On Ethereum, compare execution status, contract recipient, events and balance changes; a successful call may only be an approval. Token names and address labels are not certification. For a deposit, verify the correct contract and received amount, then the provider crediting rules.
A concrete verification
Inspect actual movements: a successful contract call may send no token to the intended recipient.

Frequently asked questions
Can an explorer reverse a transfer?
No. It reads the public ledger and does not control it.
Must I connect my wallet?
